Encoding Tabs In Between Fields in a Barcode


I need a barcode where I can enter a few separate pieces of information to create the barcode, then when I scan the barcode the information is distributed to the proper box, such as:

First Name, Tab, Last Name, Tab, City, Tab, State, Enter

Is this possible?

It is possible, depending on the barcode type being used. For the amount of data being encoded, a general recommendation would be to use a DataMatrix product, making sure the barcode scanner being used can read DataMatrix. If not, the use of the SC7-USB is recommended.

Depending on the IDAutomation product being used, you would be able to encode Carriage Returns, Tabs, or other functions in the barcode by enabling Apply/Process Tilde and encoding the function in the form of ~dXXX, where XXX is the 3-digit decimal value for the function/characters from the ASCII Table.
