When I scan a Databar Expanded code I get the characters ]e at the beginning


I've installed the Excel Add-In on the Mac (2011) but DataBar does not appear as an option so I installed it on a PC (2003) and it is an option.
I convert the number using the PC, export a csv (and also tried text and Unicode) Excel file, and import it into InDesign. The codes appear correctly and scan but I always receive the characters ]e at the beginning of the number string.
How do I get rid of those odd characters??

When scanning with my SC7-USB (set to factory defaults) I am getting 81101065356900417441000110000313111550123456, as expected. Reset your scanner (refer to your user manual) as it might be adding the Symbology ID as a prefix.
