Invalid characters in HTML (Reserved for HTML)


I am not able to encode certain characters in the DataToencode using your Web Components. Some of the characters include &, <, and $.

There are many characters that are not able to be processed as DataToencode because they are reserved for HTML. There is a way to process particular reserved characters by encoding them as ASCII while setting the ApplyTilde or ProcessTilde option in the encoder to True or Yes.

For example, using the ASCII Table, use the ~NNN format for Linear and PDF417 Web Components:
$ would be entered as ~036
< would be entered as ~060

For Aztec, Data Matrix, or QR Code Web Components, use the ~dNNN format.
$ would be entered as ~d036
< would be entered as ~d060
