Alternate UID DataMatrix Implementation in a Merge

We were following the MIL-STD-130 UID Marking Label Generation tutorial to form UID DataMatrix barcodes.

We need a way to join the various bits of the final string in Excel before merging with another program (be it the Barcode Label Software, InDesign, Word, etc):

What is your suggestion?

The tutorial guide you mentioned serves as a general guide (see the documentation specific to your needs to adjust the various bits of the final data in Column 19).

General Notes:
• For this work, you must enable ApplyTilde (or ProcessTilde) in the Barcode Label Software or the IDAutomation encoding function – see the respective documentation for more details.

• The green and yellow columns in the below picture are to show an example of the Serial Number section being split to allow Excel to auto-number down (press Ctrl and drag down the numbers in yellow to auto-increment).

• The data in columns 1-18 are all formatted as Text and Column 19 is formatted as General (so the CONCATENATE function will work correctly).

• The example below may not be perfectly accurate from a UID DataMatrix perspective, but it is provided as a very general guide.

• The user may do this in any way they wish, using 18 columns of data just allows each section to easily be edited for future use.

• Refer to Microsoft’s Excel guides for Excel-specific questions.
