Manual Calculation of Checksum Character for Code 128

I am using IDAutomation Code 128 Fonts and building an encoded string in a product called Clarion for Windows.

I use the formula given to calculate a checksum for a Code128B barcode as follows – the first one works, the second does not:

1. D10359 - Checksum Calc - 104 + (36x1) + (17x2) + (16x3) + (19x4) + (21x5) + (25x6) = 553

Divide by 103 - gives 5 plus the remainder of 38 - so the ASCII character is 38 + 32 = 70 which is 'F' if I use the ID Automation check digit calculator and font encoder - that also gives 'F'.

Therefore, with a start char of ASCII 204 and a stop char of ASCII 206, I can build the string in my software, which produces the correct barcode.

2. D50224 - Checksum Calc - 104 + (36x1) + (21x2) + (16x3) + (18x4) + (18x5) + (20x6) = 512

Divide by 103 - give 4 plus the remainder of 100 - if I calculate the ASCII as 100 + 32 = 132 - if I use ASCII 132 as the check digit, I get a bad barcode. IDAutomation states the valid check digit should be ASCII 200.

It seems many of my barcodes come out fine, but a certain range of the formula does not seem to work.

Is there something I am not understanding for certain ranges of characters?
