Tab and CR in DataMatrix

Newbie here that's searched the entire internet for the answer but has been unable to solve my question. I'm looking for one barcode that has data then tab or enter then more data etc. (ie. a username and password barcode so I could log into an application with a simple scan of a bar code.)

I've figured out how to do this with one scanner through data matrix however the other scanner will not recognize the tabs/enters if it's the middle of the data.

Can you help?

With IDAutomation’s DataMatrix font, you may encode Tab and Enter by:
• Enabling ApplyTilde*
• Encode the characters using the form ~dXXX, where XXX is the 3-digit decimal value from the ASCII Table.
• Enter (CR or Carriage Return) is ~d013 and Tab (HT or Horizontal Tab) is ~d009.

General Example: (<> denotes hidden characters – example is for hardcoded data – adjust for dynamic data, according to your interface):

To encode Username<Tab>Pass<Tab><CR>, you can set your DataToEncode* as:

”Username~d009Pass~d009~d013”

* Refer to the respective encoder’s instructions.

Once encoded, test your barcode with your scanner (refer to its manual):
• Enable Lower ASCII
• Scan into the Free ASCII Decoder to see the hidden characters.
