Crystal Report Server Font Installed - Distribution of report does not display barcode


I installed IDAutomation on the Crystal Report server. When I view the report on the server the barcode appears fine. However, when a report is viewed by a user through the web, they do not see the barcode. Instead, some text appears with the barcode column. How do I resolve this issue? Must all users have IDAutomation installed on their machines?

Christine,

Yes, that is correct, the font will need to be installed on every machine that will be viewing the report. Since the developer's license was purchased, this gives the rights to install the font for 10,000 users. To our knowledge, Crystal does not have the ability to display a font from the server.

If Crystal 11 or above is being used, streaming the barcode into the report as an image is a possibility.
I would suggest either the Dynamic Barcode Generator service or the ASP Barcode Server for IIS, to implement this.
If you prefer this method, you can return the font package, and purchase either the dynamic generator service or the ASP barcode server for IIS instead.
