The SC7USB2D barcode scanner is capable of scanning many barcode and font types including Code 128, Data Matrix, Intelligent Mail, MICR, OCRa, and OCRb.

The steps explain how to program OCR using the SC7USB2D online scanner manual.

1. Go to page 109 of the PDF and scan the Default All OCR Settings barcode to reset any OCR settings.

2. Scan the OCRa or OCRb enable barcode.

NOTES Default Settings for OCR

- Either OCRa or OCRb can be enabled at one time.
- Once enabled, only 8-character OCR codes can be scanned (by default ).

To modify the amount of OCR characters that can be scanned, go to page 112 of the PDF.

After setting the OCR to scan, build a template for the type of characters and the amount of data to scan. For example, to create a template that scans a 10-character alphanumeric OCR barcode, the coordinates aaaaaaaaaa.

3. Go to page 125 of the PDF.

4. Scan the Enter OCR Template barcode.

5. Go to page 134 of the PDF.

6. Scan the appropriate coordinates ('letter barcode' from step 5). In this post, the example uses aaaaaaaaaa for 10 alphanumeric characters (scan the a barcode ten times)

7. Scan the Save OCR Template barcode.

The scanner is ready to scan an OCR barcode that has 10 alphanumeric characters.
