Resolved Questions

SC7-USB-2D beeps but does not scan

The barcode reader will beep like it is reading the barcode, but nothing happens - the digits aren't displayed/reported to the computer - I have notepad open with a blinking cursor, scan a barcode, and the reader beeps, but nothing else happens.

I have tried:
(1) resetting to factory default.
(2) a different USB port.
(3) another computer.

All with the same result.

Physically Resetting the scanner did not work.

Operating System: Windows 7

Application: Notepad (for testing), AIMSi

There is another thing that you can try--physically resetting the scanner.

1. Disconnect the scanner from the USB port.

2. Near the back side of the scanner handle, there is a tiny hole. Insert a paperclip into the scanner hole, then disconnect the scanner from the cord.

3. Firmly re-insert the cord into the base of the scanner.

4. Connect the scanner to the USB port.

5. Attempt to scan a barcode.

If it does not work,re-install the USB drivers.

If none of the solutions resolve the issue and the scanner is under warranty, review the IDAutomation Barcode Hardware Process.
