SC7-USB In High Security Area


We have a facility that requires a higher-than-usual security protocol, which mandates we cannot have devices that retain a memory of anything in the facility, including cell phones, cameras, and many other devices.

We are looking for a non-laser barcode scanner (as we have heard that they have fewer moving parts and therefore are more dependable).

We saw your SC7-USB 2D Barcode scanner and were wondering if you could elaborate on it.

The IDAutomation SC7-USB 2D Scanner contains a CMOS sensor and no moving parts - thus significantly increasing the reliability, longevity, and reading speed (over traditional laser-based scanners).

Although the SC7-USB is considered advanced in its scanning abilities and customizations, the scan information is not retained in the scanner memory, any more than a keyboard retains a memory of what is typed.

Specifically, the scanner immediately inputs the scan to the operating system (via the attached USB). After interpreting the barcode, it clears its memory and then prepares itself for the next scan (this happens in a fraction of a second).
