Why does IDAutomationC128 create unparseable codes when datatoencode contains at least two leading zeroes?


When IDAutomationC128 encodes values that begin with at least 2 leading zeroes, the resulting bar code contains a white space gap which renders the bar code unreadable by either OCR or IR readers. All other combinations thus far tested are perfectly readable otherwise.

Operating System: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003

The standard Code-128 Fonts can be incompatible with some applications where the 1252 Latin-1 codepage is not used in the manner expected. This incompatibility is specifically caused by the extended characters that are used in standard Code-128 Fonts. I recommend trying the Universal Barcode Font since it does not use any extended characters, it supports Code-128 and it is cross-platform compatible.
