Barcode scans with a decimal in Crystal Reports

Barcode scans with a decimal when data does not include a decimal. My data should be 13 but it scans as 13.00. Is this caused by the IDAutomation UFL or IDAutomation Font Formula with the barcode fonts?

Application: Crystal Reports

This is a common issue in Crystal when the data is not converted to Text. If it is not possible to modify the field, then use the ToText function that will format it before it is encoded.

For example, using the Font Formulas:
DataToEncode = ToText({Table.Field})

If this does not resolve the issue, then as a test, hard code the desired value such as:
DataToEncode = "13"

The test is designed to confirm that the font encoder is not directly causing the issue. When it receives the data in the desired format, it will encode it as it should.

EXAMPLE ENCODING THE NUMBER 13 FOR CODE 128 (OR CODE 128 B) should produce encoded data that displays as Ì13XÎ when a normal font such as Arial or Times New Roman is applied to it.

ENCODED DATA "13" WITH BARCODE FONT APPLIED:

EXAMPLE ENCODING THE NUMBER 13.00 FOR CODE 128 (OR CODE 128 B)
Compare it with encoded data that does have "13.00" encoded:
Ì13.00DÎ.

If the barcode scans with the 13.00, then test scan the barcode in an application--Notepad--that will not modify the output. Excel is an application that can set the scanned data to another format.

If this does not work, check the scanner to ensure that a suffix is not programmed if the data is a certain type.

Beyond this information, correcting the issue is out of the scope of our support.
