Native Barcode for Crystal Reports Batch Delay

[Support Note: Post altered for clarification and proprietary code removed.]

We use the Native Barcode Generator for Crystal Reports and are having a problem with time of printing document with 2D barcodes. For one document, we do not notice any delays, but since we usually print in excess of 300 at a time, they become noticeable.

What advice do you have?

Operating System: Windows

Application: Crystal Report + SQL DB

The Native Barcode Generator is an object that may be easily inserted into a Crystal Report to create barcode images. Once installed in a report, no other components or fonts need to be installed to create barcodes.

Our apologies, but there are no further actions that may be taken in the code to speed up the process. To accomplish the embedability of the product, all the calculations are performed internally, which places a heavier burden on the report.

While the exact run times are subjective to the implementation*, we recommend allotting a time for the process to run in advance (according to experience).

* Affecting factors may be data length, symbology, machine/server speed, etc.

Note: IDAutomation currently is developing a hybrid (high speed) version of the Native product which will use the UFL to accelerate the process. There is not a timeline for release, but you can watch the Release Log for updates.
