Null QR Code when in Numeric Mode


While testing some data using your QR Code Dynamic Barcode Generator Subscription, we noticed that when we get back a null (empty) QR Code that is encoded in Byte mode when we try to force the encoding of letters (no numbers in the data) in Numeric mode.

Is this supposed to be happening?

QR Code specifications do not allow the encoding of non-numeric data when using Numeric mode.

IDAutomation Numeric encoding has been designed with the following:

1. Mixed Data (numbers, letters, or symbols): Only numbers will be encoded in the barcode. For example, in Numeric mode, the data abc123 will produce a QR barcode that contains 123.

2. Non-numeric Data (only letters or symbols): Since numbers are not present, the encoding will return a null (empty) barcode in Byte mode, which is the default encoding-mode. For example, in Numeric mode, the data abc will produce a null (empty) QR barcode:
