Human Readable Data under Barcode Not Printing Correctly after Upgrading Oracle eBusiness


We use Oracle eBS (eBusiness) and have been using the IDAutomation Java Barcode Package for several years without issue. We performed some upgrades to our system and now the human-readable text underneath the barcode is not printing correctly.

Can you give us some insight into why this is happening?

Operating System: Solaris 10

Application: Oracle eBusiness

Generally, the recommendation is not to use the human-readable functionality under the barcode.

Instead, add a text field under the barcode with the equivalent assigned text, which has the added benefit of full control of the text size, style, and positioning.

It seems the upgrade introduced a Unicode incompatibility, which only affected the HR - follow the text field suggestions.

This has been working for years (6) without issue.

What would have changed the drawing of the characters?
