How to scan with two or more barcode readers?

What do I do when I want to use 2 or more USB readers? How can I get the data to go to different places in the database or Excel?

Ben	Best Answer You may be able to set a Prefix value for the scanners. For example, using the scanner's manual values as a prefix can be appended to the scanned data, such as #1- for Reader #1 and #2- for Reader #2. When you scan a barcode that has the value 12345 with the first reader, it will place the value, #1- 12345 in your text area. Unfortunately, if you are attempting to place data from the barcode scans into two different places, we do not provide support. Hi Ben

Thanks for your comments. I have 2 different bar code readers working and placing their data into the top box ready to copy/paste etc. into Excel.

The top box does not however identify which data came from Reader #1 or reader #2.

I need this to be able to allocate the data correctly in Excel.
Can each reader have its USB ID as per the Device Manager added as a prefix to the data being sent Thanks

Think of the barcode reader (scanner) as a keyboard. When it is connected to the computer, the cursor must be placed where the data will be entered (typed, scanned).

Depending on your device, several connected scanners will function. As a test, I connected the SC5USB and SC7USB to a laptop and both function without error.
