PDF417 Crystal UFL will not install on Windows Server 2003

We have a Crystal Report which has the PDF417 IDAutomation font embedded in it using the Crystal UFL. On one Windows server (server 2003) the report works fine. We copy the report onto a second Windows server and the report does not run crashing out. We have installed the font and dll (or more precisely our customer's IT department have) on this second server.

In our log files (created from the application that calls the Crystal Report as an embedded Activex object) we have the following:-

Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION
Fault address: 0091AEC0 5B5F958:7C8280E0 Ã‚|ÿÿÿÿ™Ã‚|ÝÄ‚|

If we take the bit of the Crystal Report that calls the PDF417 out of the Crystal Report everything runs fine.

Any ideas on this?

First, verify the difference between the two machines. If they are running the same version of Windows Servers, the comparisons may be easier. Next, verify that the appropriate dlls are installed on the machine causing problems.

The UFL/dlls for PDF417 include:
• IDAutomationPDF417.dll and/or IDAutomationPDF41764.dll
• CRUFL_IDAutomationPDF417.dll

If the dll is present, then run a search for the error Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION as another issue that could be causing the problem.
