Can I create UPC barcodes on Mac?


Is it possible to create UPCa, UPCe, EAN8, and EAN13 on Mac?

I read about the issue with the Code 128 Font on Mac due to the encoding and saw that the Universal Font or the Code 128 for Mac font was recommended. Does UPC have this same issue? I also read that the UPC or EAN is not an option in the Universal Font Package. So, am I able to use the UPC/EAN Font Package to create barcodes on Mac, or am I out of luck?

Yes. It is possible to generate UPCa, UPCe, EAN8, and EAN13 on Mac using the UPC/EAN Font Package with an IDAutomation Font Encoder designed for Mac.

UPC encoders for Mac include the:
• IDAutomation VBA for Excel 2004 and 2011
• IDAutomation FileMaker Plug-In

Instead of a font, it is also possible to generate UPC and EAN barcodes using an application such as the Barcode Image Generator for Mac.
