Converting a number to barcode works. What can I do to solve this problem?

Operating System: Windows 7 x64 German

Application: Word 2007

Support Note: Due to the different options available and the changing settings security settings in Microsoft Word, we can only provide limited troubleshooting to Add-In problems.

Here are the suggestions we can make to correct the issue:
1. Remove the current version you have of the Add-In (from every user who has a login on that computer) and reboot the machine.
2. Install the latest version of the Add-In as a user with administrator rights.
3. Test the setup with only highlighting one line of data at a time, then 'Change to Barcode'.

If the above still does not work for you, the only other alternative would be to use the VBA Font Encoder in Excel and perform an Excel to Word mail-merge.

I created a virtual machine with the English version of Windows 7 (Pro 64bit) and my German Office 2007 and I still have the add-on error.

Maybe it is a problem with the German Office, but I cannot test it because I do not have an English version of Office 2007.

I will try the Excel to Word mail merge. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your feedback. My installation is a normal desktop installation on a simple Windows 7 PC with SP1 (German language). There is nothing special about it, I think.

If a terminal-based system is being used, that might be the cause of the error, as the IDAutomation Barcode Addin for Word and Excel is designed for typical desktop use. The dependencies in a terminal setup might be the cause.

While the above is outside the scope of our support, we suggest testing the Add-In on a non-terminal computer (one which does not use roaming profiles) to confirm the cause.
