Although the system setup is outside of the scope of IDAutomation's support, the answer is a 'theoretical yes.' Given that a barcode's data is associated with the student account number, it is very possible.

IDAutomation recommends the Code 39 Barcode Font Package when using QuickBooks since it does not require an additional encoding of data, besides the start/stop characters.
