Correct Text in Crystal Reports

We are using an old version of the Universal UFL for Crystal Reports with the IDAutomation Universal Fonts.

The barcode encodes correctly, but since we're using tildes to encode the Application Identifiers in our GS1-128 barcodes, we are using the IDAutomation_Uni_C128HR() function for the human-readable (HR) text in a field underneath the barcode.

Issue: If we encode the 37 AI with a data of 10, the text improperly shows as (3710), instead of (37)10.

Our Function*: IDAutomation_Uni_C128HR("~20290100272~2023710~20291m2",true )

Result: (90)100272(3710)(91)m2

We Need: (90)100272(37)10(91)m2

Without having to replace a bunch of dataset fields, how can we correct the above issue in HR?

*Please note that the 91 AI’s data is m2 - it is not a mod10 typo.

James	Best Answer The UFL being used has been deprecated and is no longer supported by IDAutomation. We generally recommend using the updated UFLs or Font Formulas. With that said you may have your people use the following functionality to achieve the desired result – this is written in Crystal Syntax but it may be translated to Basic Syntax – adjust spacing after copying into Crystal Reports to avoid possible syntax errors: //Declare and assign the HR function's result to a variable stringVar tempHR:= IDAutomation_Uni_C128HR("~20290100272~2023710~20291m2",true ); //Use Crystal's REPLACE function to correct text - reassign result back to variable tempHR:= Replace (tempHR, "(3710)", "(37)10"); //Return corrected text as a field result tempHR Support Note: The above is outside the scope of support we provide but has been given above to aid clients with similar issues.
