Excel 2011 VBA Font Encoder Functions For Universal Fonts On Mac

We are using the Universal Barcode Fonts on Mac. We tried following the VBA Font Encoder import directions (using the RTF file) for Mac, but it does not work on Mac Excel 2011.

Can you help?

Operating System: Mac OS X

Application: Excel 2011

Mac Excel 2008 does not have the ability to use Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) - only Mac Excel versions 2004 and 2011 can.

Unlike Mac Excel 2004, Excel 2011 has an import feature.

Follow this procedure (make sure there are not any Administrator restrictions on the machine- otherwise a Device I/O Error may be seen in Excel):

1. Locate the IDAutomation_UniversalFont_VBA.bas file in the Universal Fonts download (found in IDAutomation Universal Font Advantage.zip IDAutomation_UniversalFontAdvantage Integration Excel & Access VBA IDAutomation_UniversalFont_VBA.bas).
2. In Mac Excel 2011: Go to Tools - Macro - Visual Basic Editor.
3. Choose the IDAutomation_UniversalFont_VBA.bas file - (Right-Click) - Import FIle.
4. Save the Excel file from within the VB Editor as a Excel Macro Enabled workbook (.XLSM) to preserve the imported functions.
5. Close the VB Editor window and reboot machine.
6. Open the saved file.
7. It is now possible to follow the general Excel Tutorial (showing Windows, but valid for Mac as well), paying special attention to the Universal Functions, as listed on the VBA Barcode Macro Functions and Properties Table.
