Android Barcode Fonts error.

Hi,

We're highly considering purchasing the Android Barcode Font integration package.

However, the demo application source (https://www.idautomation.com/font-encoders/android/#Installing) that we're trying to execute, and experiment with in order to gain further understanding and capabilities of the package crashes in the AVD and on devices.

The problem seems to be related to the external JAR files for the font classes etc. that can't be found at run-time:

09-06 08:43:00.890: E/dalvikvm(18388): Could not find class 'com.idautomation.fontencoder.datamatrix.DataMatrixEncoder', referenced from method com.idautomation.barcode.Barcode.<init>

09-06 08:43:00.895: E/AndroidRuntime(18388): at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Class.java:1319)

I've made sure in Eclipse (Version: 4.2.0) that the JAR files are linked and referenced correctly, as I'd have expected them to be given it's a working demo d/l from the main site.

Any help to get this demo working correctly would be appreciated and would help speed the process up in determining if we will choose this product (at present we will be).

Thank you.

Jon

Jon,

I believe the problem is the directory structure of the project. It looks like Google now requires custom jar files to be in a libs folder in the project root directory.

Try unlinking the Java libraries in the project properties, and close the project.
Then rename the java folder libs, and copy any folders or files from the jars and classes folders to the root of the libs folder, and delete the jars and classes folder.
The libs folder contents should now look like this.
libsIDAutomationPDFE
libscom
libsIDAutomation_JavaFontEncoder_QRCode.jar
libsIDAutomation_LinearJavaFontEncoder.jar

Then re-add the libraries/folders and it should compile.
I will also test this on my end and update the sample project on our website.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I will keep you posted.
