numberVar TotalColumns:=0;
numberVar TotalRows:=0;

This is how to scan and encode international characters such as Croatian and German:

1. Encode the data using byte or binary encoding. This option encodes all data, byte-by-byte. To do this in your product, change PDFMode:=1 to PDFMode:=0.
2. Scan the data with a scanner capable of reading these characters. Usually, this is supported by the serial interface option (data bits have to be 8N) on the scanner. Most keyboard wedge and USB scanners do not support extended characters above ASCII 128.
