In this tutorial, an additional app pool is created to run a demo barcode streaming application with lower priority than other pools. This may be necessary to give more processor priority to production applications in case the IIS server encounters high traffic volume.

1.
Within IIS, choose the application pools section under the server. If necessary, create another application pool; right-click Application Pools and choose New.

2.
Select the application pool and choose Advanced Settings.

3.
Within advanced settings, modify and save the following:
Start Mode: Always Running
CPU Limit Percent: 50 (This determines the priority)
CPU Limit Action: Throttle
CPU Limit Interval: 1 Minute (Barcode images are streamed quickly)
Process Model Idle Timeout: 1 Minute

4.
Right-click on the application folder, choose Advanced Settings and assign the application to the new application Pool.
