How To Set the ActiveX Properties

We are programmatically adding Data Matrix (DM) to an Excel spreadsheet using the ActiveX Barcode Control, as an image (technically, as an image object).

We want to accomplish the following:

1. Link cell data to the barcode object
2. Set various size properties for the barcode object

How do we do all of the above?

Operating System: Windows

Application: Excel, Visual Basic for Applications, VBA, ActiveX Barcode Control

In the following answer, the ActiveX DM properties are referenced by going to the Manual Page, and expanding the '+ DataMatrix-Specific Barcode Properties'.

As a simple example, let us say the user wanted to assign the object's cell value and change the NarrowBarCM property. The following assumes the next object name is Datamatrix1 (the user would have to develop a mechanism to keep track of the object names as they are created):

ActiveSheet.OLEObjects("Datamatrix1").Select

With Selection
.LinkedCell = "A1" 'Property successfully links the cell data.
End With

'Assign object-level properties:
ActiveSheet.OLEObjects("Datamatrix1").Object.NarrowBarCM = 0.09
