Aztec Font & Encoder Menu Symbol

Using Aztec Font & Encoder Java how do I designate the Aztec Code that is generated as a Menu Symbol? Most Aztec Codes are either Compact, Full, or Menu. I don't see any of these options in the user manual. I am wanting to generate the Aztec Code to be displayed on an ios screen using Java. Will this work?

Application: ios

We offer the source in C# and Java; however, it is not in an iOS project. For C#, I would recommend using Xamarin. For Xamarin, we currently only offer QR Code as an iOS .NET Standard DLL.

You would need 1 Developer License or greater, 1 costs $790. However, I would not have any suggestions about reader Initialization mode.

Brant,

What version would I need to buy and what is the cost? Since you have the Reader Initialization mode online, would you have suggestions to go with the C# code for Reader Initialization mode?

Brant,

What language is your source code in? I will need this for an IOS project.
Also looking at another answer on your site. What I am looking for is the Reader Initialization mode.
This can be set on http://www.bcgen.com/aztec-barcode-creator.html using the reader initialization option of Yes. Whatever solution / api / source I get I need to be able to code it for IOS.

We do not support the menu symbol in the Aztec code. However, what I can offer you is if you purchase the developer license, we can provide you with the source code as well as the specification. With that information, you should be able to figure it out.

Brant,

I appreciate the quick response. So the Java product can or cannot do menuing symbols? I am not sure I understand Full-Range symbols up to 24 layers in size can be flagged as menu symbols by artificially setting the MSB of the message length field, an otherwise illegal setting because the symbol's total capacity is exceeded."

We are wanting to program a Honeywell Bluetooth scanner by dynamically generating the barcode on an iPad. The data would encode something like BT_DLK;BT_DNG5;BT_SSP1;BT_TRM1;BT_PEN1;BT_ADRA0D7956145BF. A plain (FULL) Aztec code will not configure the scanner when it is set as a menu symbol. How would I flag the data as a menu symbol? Is there an example in Java?

I do not believe that our product supports a menu symbol. From the Aztec Specification: "As a special case, "menuing" symbols may be desired whose sole purpose is reader initialization and configuration and whose encoded data are never transmitted. Full-Range symbols up to 24 layers in size can be flagged as menu symbols by artificially setting the MSB of the message length field, an otherwise illegal setting because the symbol's total capacity is exceeded."
Is that what you are looking to do?
