GS1-128 in Oracle Reports 6i


Hello,
currently, we are using Oracle Reports 6i. Now we have the requirement to generate barcodes using GS1-128 format.

Can we use the Universal Barcode Font with the appropriate Oracle Reports Universal Barcode Font Functions (in the IDAutomation_Universal.pll file), as it is compatible with 9i and above? Or does it work with 6i too?

To support Oracle 6i, 9i, and above, IDAutomation recommends the Java Barcode Package. Refer to the Creating Barcodes in Oracle using Java tutorial for implementation.

The Oracle PLL Supports Oracle Reports 6i and greater so that is also a possible option. You may want to look at both options and choose the implementation you are most comfortable with.

Is it just a recommendation? Will the universal pll work with reports 6i or is it technically impossible?
