Resolved Questions

QR Code not working in CR

1. I have a memo field that contains a path to a document but has some extraneous characters to strip out: <fields><fields3>S:IT StuffMiSys MigrationRoutingBobcat R1PickRaw Material.docx<fields3><fields>
2. I create a formula field FilePath that strips out the extra characters: S:IT StuffMiSys MigrationRoutingBobcat R1PickRaw Material.docx
3. I copy and paste your QR Code example
4. I set your DataToEncode = {@FilePath}
5. I save the RPT file
6. When I scan, nothing. But the gun works on other QR codes.

Attached are my resultant QR Codes. For reference, I displayed the original field and the contents of @FilePath

Operating System: Windows 11 64-bit

Application: MISys Imbedded CR engine

Thank you for contacting us and for providing the example file. I can tell by the shape of the barcode that the issue is that the field is not large enough to accommodate the barcode with the data entered into it. You are using the Native Barcode Generator for Crystal Reports and when you review the User Manual here: Native Crystal Reports Barcode Generator User Manual you can see in Step 11 a different barcode type showing the same distortion because the field isn't large enough.

We recommend taking the following steps:
1) Increase the size of the field for the barcode until the QR Code appears normally
2) If you need to make the barcode smaller after you have successfully generated a barcode without distortions, you can work with the point size of the font as in Step 10 of the tutorial.
