Space character not encoded when using Code 128

Hello,

I am a Crystal Reports developer in an IT company and I need to encode a field from the database to Code128; this field in the database contains also the space character.

I am currently using Crystal Reports 2008.

I've installed from your site the demo for IDAutomation_CrystalUFL, IDAutomation_C128FontAdvantageDEMO, and IDAutomation_CrystalNativeBarcodeGeneratorDemo.

When opening the crystal reports tool and choosing change to bar code I see a list and I have chosen the option for Code 128 and afterwards a bar code font. But when printing the report, the space character is not encoded.

Can you please help me with this? and also, can you please tell me which is proper for us?
I think the Native Barcode Generator will help us better, but I am not sure if the space character will be encoded or not.

Thank you very much.

It is important to not mix products when testing barcode technologies:

* Uninstall the product not being used to minimize confusion and possible conflict of technologies.
* Indicate which Crystal product is being used- the UFL or the Native Generator.

Hello,

I have put the next function in a formula IDAutomation_Code128HumanReadable ({V_STOCKROOMLOCATIONLABEL_DFD.UNIQUEID}), but when running the report an error occurred:

Formula Error: Report Error [166] The identifier
"IDAutomation_Code128HumanReadable" is not a
function or variable.

Can you please help?

Thank you

The UFL is a font encoder that formats the data for several symbologies including code 128. When you encode a space such as "ABC 123" the encoding should format the data as
ÌABCÂ1232Î where the  produces the space character. Can you run this test?

What are the region settings for your computer? Verify that it is capable of handling the encoded data for code 128.

You can compare the encoded result to the online font encoder.

You cannot go wrong with either product as there are advantages to both.
