Why is my Code 128 A barcode scanning with functions?


I am using your Code 128 A option in your Code 128 product and when I encode the data with lowercase characters, the barcode scans as different functions. How do I fix this?

Code 128 includes multiple character sets:

Code 128 A - Encodes uppercase letters and numbers; lowercase letters perform functions. See the Code 128 Character set.

Code 128 B - Encodes numbers as well as lower and upper case letters.

Code 128 C - Encodes numbers in pairs and the FNC1 for GS1

Code 128 Auto is a combination of A, B, and C to create the most efficient barcode. Users should use Code 128 Auto for GS1 barcodes. To avoid executing functions with lowercase letters, use Code 128 Auto or Code 128 B options.
