Does IDAutomation support AIAG B-16 Data Matrix?


We are using Crystal Reports V14 with IDAutomation Barcode Generator for Crystal Reports and it has been working well. However, we are working on creating a label for GM following their 1724A label template and thus we need to create a 52x52 data matrix following the AIAG B-16 Global Transport Label standard. On your "Data Matrix Font and Encoder Suite" page it didn't mention the B-16 matrix, only B-13, B-17, etc. My question is does it support the B-16 data matrix and/or is it the same as the B-17 or other version so we can use it to create our 2D data matrices? If so we will purchase it and integrate it into our crystal reports, Thanks!

The Barcode Generator for Crystal Reports has the ability to change the "Preferred Format" for Data Matrix as per these parameters: Data Matrix Native - DataMatrix.rpt DataToEncode, processTilde, PreferredFormat and EncodingMode. The Preferred Format table is located here: Data Matrix Preferred Format Table and a 52x52 symbol would be format 14.

While we do not have information specific to AIAG B-16 specifications, you can set the symbol up for the correct size via the Preferred Format and then structure your data to the specification from GS1.
