Alternate UID DataMatrix Implementation in a Merge

We were following the MIL-STD-130 UID Marking Label Generation tutorial to form UID DataMatrix barcodes.

We need a way to join the various bits of the final string in Excel before merging with another program (be it the Barcode Label Software, InDesign, Word, etc):

What is your suggestion?

The tutorial guide you mentioned serves a general guide (see the documentation specific to your needs to adjust the various bits of the final data in Column 19).

General Notes:
• For this work, you must enable ApplyTilde (or ProcessTilde) in the Barcode Label Software or the IDAutomation encoding function – see the respective documentation for more details.

• The green and yellow columns in the below picture are to show an example of the Serial Number section being split to allow Excel to auto number down (press Ctrl and drag down the numbers in yellow to auto-increment).

• The data in columns 1-18 are all formatted as Text and Column 19 is formatted as General (so the CONCATENATE function will work correctly).

• The example below may not be perfectly accurate from an UID DataMatrix perspective, but it is provided as a very general guide.

• The user may do this is any way they wish, using 18 columns of data just allows each section to easily be edited for future use.

• Refer to Microsoft’s Excel guides for Excel-specific questions.
