Bar Code doesn't scan with same settings as other human readable text

We have a current environment setup using Code 39 Free Font with bar codes on a SQL Server Reporting Services report and everything works fine. Can print the bar code and scan it fine. We set up a new environment for testing with the same report, same fonts, same printer settings, etc., but that bar code won't scan in the new environment. The only difference I see is the old environment doesn't have text on the bottom of the bar code. The new environment bar code has text on the bottom of the bar code - human-readable text *1234567* which is the item number. If the font used is both Code 39 Free Font for both environments we must have somehow turned off human-readable text for the old environment. How is this done? Where is it done? By getting rid of this extra text maybe the bar code will be big enough to read/scan. Thoughts? Thanks. Jeff

The Code 39 Font Package includes fonts that have human-readable and non-human readable fonts. The free font is ONLY human readable named IDAutomationHC39M. This font does not have an option to remove human readability. It is possible that you might be looking at our components that have options to turn on and turn off human-readable text, using ShowText. To generates barcodes in SSRS a Developer License is required.

The font used in both environments is IDAutomationHC39M.

Expression is:
="*" & TRIM(Fields!ItemNumber.Value) & "*"
