How to create GS1-128 barcodes in MS Access

I have Access DB ready to go but the barcode is not passing the vendor inspection.

Barcode is to be GS1-128... what's the proper way to create it? Do I need additional software?

Thanks
Dedra

To generate GS1-128 barcodes in Access, take a look at how to generate Code 128 Barcodes in Access.

When generating GS1 symbols, IDAutomation recommends testing the result with the Barcode Decoder App which parses out GS1 data to verify proper encoding.

Basic Function set up:
=Code128( DataToEncode, ReturnType, ApplyTilde)

DataToEncode is the data to generate the barcode.
Disregard ReturnType.
ApplyTilde when enabled allows you to encode the FNC1 for GS1 using parentheses and ~m for the MOD10.

GS1-128 Example
=Code128("(01)1234567897987987", 0, 1)

Place any Application Identifiers that require an FNC1 within parentheses. For example, the AI in this example is 01.

Set the ReturnType to 0.

Set the ApplyTilde to 1.

If your data requires a MOD 10 check digit, here is an example:
=Code128("(01)1234567897987987~m10", 0, 1)

~m starts the calculation and the two digits following determine how many characters to use in the calculation. In this example, we will take the last 10 digits 7897987987, and calculate the check digit.
