Resolved Questions

What Wireless Scanner do you recommend?

I have Excel and I would like a barcode reader, preferably wireless, that works with it. I would like it to automatically do a tab after each barcode entry so that it goes to the cell to the right.

If wirelesses are less reliable than wired then perhaps, I should stick with the wired.

Operating System: Windows

Application: Excel

From experience, I can say that the IDAutomation Wireless Barcode Scanner
is very reliable, even giving a beep to let you know there was a proper scan.

The 300-foot radius is great.

Thanks for the response again,

I am seriously looking at purchasing IDAutomation's Wireless Barcode Scanner. A couple more questions. How well does this hold up to a workplace environment? And is this a good scanner for barcodes that are at times a little muddled? In essence, I have read that some barcode readers are better than others at reading barcodes that are not in the best shape.

The SC5USB-WB and 1202g Cordless Linear Laser Scanner both have a lot in common. The SC5USB-WB model has a wireless communication range of up to 300 feet, as opposed to a 33-foot range for the 1202g. The SC5USB-WB model also has a one-year manufacturer warranty which can be extended up to 3 years, while the 1202g model has a manufacturer's 3-year warranty. The final point I would make is that we are able to accept returns on the SC5USB-WB models because they are IDAutomation scanners, whereas with the 1202g model, we are resellers and the manufacturer has a very strict return policy. In almost every other way these scanners are similar in functionality.

How does that (IDAutomation's Wireless Barcode Scanner) compare to your Voyager 1202g Cordless Linear Laser Scanner? I am currently looking at those two and comparing them.

Thanks

IDAutomation's Wireless Barcode Scanner is compatible with Excel 2010. It can read linear barcode types such as Code 39, Code 128, UPC, and others, and will output the scanned data wherever the cursor is located on the computer screen. This scanner can also be programmed to perform a tab function after each scan, as shown in our easy programming guide.
