How to add field separators (FNC1) in Access using Data Matrix VBA?

Access database with the VBA code. Need the ability to generate a Data Matrix code containing the data from four fields, each separated by a Field Separator (FNC1). Do you have any examples to reference? On this sample, https://support.idautomation.com/2D-Barcode-Fonts/How-to-Create-2D-Barcode-in-Access-2013-using-Barcode-Fonts/_1592 I would like to expand to include (3) other fields in the DM Code.
Control Source =EncDM([Superhero], [Planet], [Power], [AlterEgo])

Operating System: Windows 7

Application: Access 2010 / VBA

Take a look at how to set up and encode the FNC1 and field separators within a GS1-DataMatrix barcode.

GS1-DataMatrix FAQ

Here is an example of the IDAutomation_DMatrix_FontEncoder function used to encode data for Data Matrix. This function handles four parameters.

- DataToEncode (Data to format)
- ProcTilde (Process Tilde)
- EncMode (Encoding Mode)
- PrefFormat (Barcode size)

To include an FNC1 or separator in a GS1-DataMatrix barcode using the VBA, you must set:
- The Encoding Mode to 0 (Automatic encodes ASCII)
- ProcessTilde to 1 (True allows the ~ symbol to encode functions when used with ASCII values).
- Encode the FNC1/separator using ~1

Here is a direct example for Access using the IDAutomation_DMatrix_FontEncoder function:

It is correct, I see the separators. Because DEMO is encoded in the barcodes, it will not show the FNC1 but it will encode it in the Sale version or when the demo text isn't encoded in the demo.

Ben, thanks for the response.

The customer requested a Field Separator before the first field, between each field, and after the last field, would the following be the correct syntax?

=encDM("~1" & [Table.Field1] & "~1" & [Table.Field2] & "~1",1,0,0)

I do not have a DM scanner in the office to test results, only a smartphone with a scanner app.
If [Table.Field1] = "Test1" and [Table.Field2]="Test2", what should my results be as DM code and results of scan?

Thanks, Dave
