Resolved Questions

Honeywell 1902, I would like to remove any time there is a zero at the start of my barcode.

Hey guys,

I have a Honeywell 1902 wireless scanner and I work for a large retail company. Because I'm in Canada there is less priority to fixing issues that we have. The UPC library that has been uploaded to my POS doesn't have zeros in front of any number. Unfortunately, a large percentage of the codes have a zero in front of them on the tags, I know there is some code I can input to fix this but I have no idea how to figure it out.

It does read the zero from the bar code and tells me the item doesn't exist, I end up having to manually type in the number. What's the point of the scanner if it rarely works?

I have a second laptop that doesn't have the POS on it and if I scan anything with its scanner it has no issues with reading the number even if there is a zero in front of it.

Operating System: Some form of newer Windows

Hi Patrick,
While we do not generally support other vendors' scanners, I did find the same question on their forum answered. You can find the solution at: https://support.honeywellaidc.com/s/article/How-to-configure-a-Honeywell-Scanner-to-remove-leading-zero-characters-from-a-barcode
