How do we scan a 2D Data Matrix?

Hi All,

I'm Arun. We've received work for scanning 1-D, 2-D barcodes. I have understood how to scan a linear barcode, Firstly we divide the entire height into 10 equal intervals and send the light at different heights and get the overall grade. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also please help me to understand the scanning procedure for 2D Data Matrix, how is it graded?

Thanks In Advance.

Arun

This information is not made available. You could try researching handheld scanner engines to learn about how scanners work.

Hi Ben,

Sorry Ben. I have put the question wrong.

I meant how do we verify the 2D Barcode (DataMatrix) using a scanner?

Attached is the image which tells how to do it for Linear Barcode. Can you please explain how the same is done for a 2D Barcode?

Thanks in Advance.

All 2D barcodes scan the same way; it can also depend on the scanner. If you are referring to how the scanner interprets the modules, this information is not provided.

A 2D laser scanner such as the SC7USB2D scanner scans 2D barcodes with a point and click. This is how most 2D scanners work.

Here is a video example of the SC7USB2D scanning a QR Code barcode:

We do not have information about the scanning procedure and grading; most handheld scanners are not verifiers. However, we do have a PQA assessment for our 2D scanner.
