Trying to use a QR code with tilde processing switched on

I have a license for the 2D Active X Control and the QR Code Font and Encoder (using the VBA encoder). The ProcessTilde to encode ~ functions is enabled. The Access Report produces the barcode with no problem. However, when I scan the QR-Code, the ~ function is not processed. When we use the Data Matrix ActiveX, it works.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Since my last post, I have now found that when populating a combobox using a QR barcode, you must not use capital letters.....Strange I know, but true!!

Everything is working fine now.

**UPDATE**

This is now working....to a degree.

The real issue was being masked by another issue. I took the problem back to basics and found that the tildes are being processed. It is a fact that the first field that is entered by barcode in the live database is a combo box.

Both ~d013 (Carriage Return) and ~d009 (Tab), do not allow the cursor to exit the combo box to continue to populate the rest of the form.

This is something I am working on now, and for completeness will post back here just in case someone else has the same issue.

Thanks.

Hi Ben,

First of all, thanks for picking this up.

A field in an Access form collating information from the form to put into the barcode, for example:

[CompanyName] & "~d009" & [Location] & "~d009" & "Extra Information" & "~d009" & "~d009"

This information is then added to a table field 'Short Text' as:

Company A~d009United Kingdom~d009Extra Information~d009~d009

Which are the keystrokes required to enter the information into the receiving database?

Using the instructions that call for the text box the be labeled 'txtIDAutomationBC1', the barcode is then generated on printing the report. As mentioned earlier, the ProcessTilde option is set to 1 in the VBA module.

We are using a Honeywell 1400g scanner at the input machine however, this dumps all the text into one field rather than processing the ~d009 command.

Thanks again.

Using the QR Code Native Generator for Access, the ApplyTilde/ProcessTilde is designed for encoding functions using ~d followed by the ASCII value to encode. For example, to encode a horizontal tab (Tab), use ~d009.

What functions are you attempting to encode?

If you are not attempting to encode a function, are you attempting to encode the tilde character directly?
