Resolved Questions

Using a Barcode simply to force a Carriage return.

I want to scan a bar code that simply initiates a carriage return in most programs. I have a few of your scanners that I have set to no prefix and no suffix. I have scanned the "Windows Mode Control + Ascii Mode on" bar code as per the manual. Then I scanned a ~013 barcode which was printed using code 128 with apply tilde set to on. Scanning the bar code gives the exact same result as if I actually typed ~ then 0 then 1 then 3. I want to scan a large quantity of numbers, then issue a carriage return by scanning one bar code. What am I doing wrong???? Thanks in advance.

Operating System: PC win 10

Application: notepad

Generally, make sure* the scanner can interpret 'lower ASCII' (those of a decimal value under 32 on the ASCII Table) functions, as IDAutomation scanners can.

*Review the scanner's manual or contact their technical support.

Looks like they aren't IDs but Honeywell now! Sorry. Any ideas that may be generic - thanks so much.
