When I create a barcode of my value, it adds a zero at the beginning of the data.

When I create an Interleaved 2 of 5 barcode with the data 2409312, it turns my data into 02409312. I also need to generate a check digit.

Interleaved 2 of 5 is a barcode symbology that encodes numeric data in pairs. If your data is an odd amount such as, 123, then encoding it without the Mod10 check character calculation will produce a barcode that will scan as 0123; the data must be separated into pairs 01 and 23.

In this example, there is no check character calculation involved. Therefore, the odd amount of data is forced to an even amount as the specification adds a 0 to the beginning of the data.

Calculating a check character for 123 will produce a 6. The 6 is added to the data making it 1236, separated into pairs 12 and 36. This is an even amount and the zero will not be added to the beginning of the data.

Since your example is an odd amount of data, a zero will be placed at the beginning of your value unless you calculate the check digit.
