code 128a using a BT scanner to an IPAD need some advice

So I have a few barcodes in Crystal reports that our ERP system generates. on a normal pc when scanned, it performs a alt-J {enters job number alt-O {enters operation}

this all works fine, unless you are trying to scan with an ipad. We have tried several setting with the scanner and the ipad itself. i am thinking the issue might be the alt codes not being performed. Does anyone know is there a way of encoding for that would be readable by IOS that would essentially function the same?

Hello,

If the barcode being generated has the function you wish to have in the barcode and it is working as that function everywhere except with the iPad, then the issue is with either the iPad scanner or the iPad's ability to interpret that function. Unfortunately, IDAutomation can only support the generation of the barcode itself when the barcode is generated with IDAutomation software, but we cannot support either the scanning with the iPad or the iPad's ability to interpret the function, and you will need to reach out to the iPad manufacturer for assistance with those items.

When it comes to Code 128 Code set A, this barcode type can have special characters and control characters, and for IDAutomation software, this would come from the ASCII Chart | ISO 1252 Latin-1 Char Set. Still, this table does not have ALT codes as there are no assigned ASCII values for modifier commands. These commands are specific to the scanner, and you need to contact the scanner manufacturer for assistance with the format for an ALT command. Once you know what command your iPad scanner will recognize, you can add that to the barcode. An example for a Honeywell scanner is here: How to Encode ALT Characters in Barcodes.

Additionally, I do not see where your organization has previously purchased Code 128 from IDAutomation, so unfortunately, I cannot advise as to the code you placed as an example on this incident.
