DS4208 scan shows all hidden characters except RS

I can't figure out how to verify that the return is 'working' or is included in the data matrix barcode I've created.
Here is the data I'm using to generate:

When I scan into your very handy decoder app, this is the result...everything I've coded in shows with the exception of the <RS> code.

I've scoured Google for any info on this particular scanner and this issue, but the closest I can find is another thread regarding the enabling of ASCII mode, but isn't it safe to assume it's enabled already as I'm seeing all of the other 'hidden' characters?

Also, I have verified that the <RS> code shows when I manually enter CTRL^ into the top section of your app, so it's definitely a scanner issue...I just can't figure out how to remedy this so that I can 100% verify/prove that this label contains all the required data/codes.

When generating symbols that encode lower ASCII characters, IDAutomation recommends testing the result with the Barcode Decoder App because it reveals the RS, GS, and EOT functions to verify proper encoding.

The ~d030 is the correct method to encode RS in Data Matrix products, such as the Data Matrix Font. You can also test this by scanning the symbols at the ISO IEC 15434 FAQ. The problem could be with the scanner or the PC that it is connected to.

Thanks again for your help, Brant, greatly appreciated.

For closure, and to potentially help someone else in the future...the solution was to download Zebra's 123Scan program and set the Scan/Picture mode to USB-SNAPI. I didn't find any documentation on the web, but just luckily stumbled into a trial-and-error victory... OPOS mode worked as well, as you see below, but SNAPI actually identified the barcode as DataMatrix, so I'm going with that!

Thank you, Brant! I'm not 100% sure I'm using the online generator correctly (I'm just testing with 123456789~d030123456789)...assuming that is correct, then the problem is definitely the scanner, as I'm still not seeing the <RS> code in the decoder. I'm using NiceLabel to generate my barcodes, but I think we've already shown the scanner to be the culprit. Now to figure out how to 'fix' the scanner...

From what you’re telling me it sounds like the decoder app is working properly, however, the barcode generator or the scanner is not decoding. What product are you using to generate the barcode? You can use our online barcode generator at www.bcgen.com to create test symbols for troubleshooting purposes.
