I need to scan a barcode with less than four characters.


How do I set up the scanner to read a barcode that is, say two or three characters using the SC5USB?

To scan a barcode containing a small number of characters, you must program your scanner. (The SC5USBW scanner can also use the SC5USB manual).

1. Open the SC5USB user manual and refer to the barcode type that you need to modify. For example, if I wanted to change the minimum amount of characters for Code 39, I would refer to pages 22/23.

2. Scan the Program barcode.

3. Scan the Min. Code Length barcode.

4. Scan 0 and 1 on page 92.

5. Scan Finish on page 92.

6. Return the barcode symbology page (in my example, Code 39 is on page 22/23) and scan the Exit barcode.
