Simulate pressing CTRL or ALT Key from QR Code

Several barcode scanners can simulate pressing the ALT key. When I make a code anything I put after ~d003x interprets as alt+xyz. How do I unalt? The equivalent of unpressing alt?

The ~d003 seems to be the equivalent of pressing down the alt key. However, I don't know how to untoggle the Alt key so that I can continue with data entry once the alt command has been given for example alt + c. Any remaining letters are considered alt + tab or whatever letters I'm typing and I can't get it to unalt.

Operating System: Windows

Application: Pdx eps

There are no assigned ASCII values for modifier commands such as ALT or CTRL. Encoding an ALT or CTRL sequence to be recognized by a scanner is specific to the scanner. Consult your specific scanner documentation about what values may be recognized as modifier commands. Many Honeywell scanners use STX (~d002) as the Alt key and ENQ (~d005) as the Crtl key. Some scanners may perform a shift command (only for the next character) while others may perform a latch or switch. When the command is a latch or switch it will be necessary to switch back unless the command is at the end of the barcode.
