Barcode font Code 128 issue in Oracle Report

The Barcode Font Code 128 is not populating correctly in the Oracle Report. We have set up the Barcode font Code128 and used IDAUTOMATION.CODE128 function which generated encoded text. After running the report barcode is displayed, however when scanned it does not show the font of Code128. Request your help in fixing this issue.

The data to encode is - 36536361001
Encoded text from database package function - IDAUTOMATION.Code128 is - DU_]1M
When barcode font code 128 is applied to encoded text, the barcode generated is not scannable.

Using online portal https://www.bcgen.com/fontencoder/ when I used the same value in the link data to encode(36536361001) it generated encoded text - ÍDU_]ÂÈ1Î
This code is scannable and returns code 128 font. The main question is why the database package function does not return the same encoded text value generated via the online portal.

It sounds like the main issue is that your locale is not "US Western" or the "1252 Latin-1" codepage. If this is the case, use the Universal Function in the font encoder with the Universal Font. The Universal Font works with all locales and codepages in any country and language.

If you are using Oracle Reports, follow the installation procedure for the Oracle PL/SQL Font Encoder Installation step-by-step.

If you are using BIP (XML/BI Publisher), you need to implement the Java Encoder. For this, you need an advanced developer that knows both Java and XML Publisher. Carefully follow the procedure step by step:
Generating Barcodes in Oracle XML BI Publisher

We have used IDAutomation-Linear-Font-Encoder-Developer-Tools in that IDAutomation_OracleLinearPLL for generating the encoded text

Which font encoder are you using with what report generator? It is possible this could be a locale issue because certain characters do not work well in other character sets. You could try the Universal Font Package demo instead because this font is designed for different locales and see if that encodes properly.
