Crystal Reports crashes when printing report with UFL

It's been several years since we've touched our reports that use the IDAutomation fonts. We use Crystal Reports 2008 and the production application is run on Server 2003 and has been printing flawlessly for years. When I try to print a report using the IDAutomationC128M font (your example report) from my workstation, Win 7 64bit, Crystal 2008 reports crash. Our application crashes when attempting to print a bar code. If no data is supplied to the barcode field the reports print fine. How do I diagnose this issue?
Thanks,
John

Operating System: Win 7 / 64

Application: Crystal Reports 2008 - IDAutomationC128M font

Best Answer

Download the most recent version of the IDAutomation Crystal UFL for barcode fonts.

UFL Release Log

The UFL is a free download to use with IDAutomation Barcode Fonts.

NOTE: The name of the UFL and the steps for the tutorial have changed.

When accessing the UFL from within Crystal, it will appear in a new location.

NOTE: The UFL functions may also appear under "COM and .NET UFLs (u212.com.dll)"

Uninstall the previous version of the UFL (from any machines that have it installed).

Install the new UFL and use the IDAutomation Crystal Reports UFL guide.

When accessing the UFL from within Crystal, it will appear in a new location.

I downloaded and installed "IDAutomation_CrystalUFL .zip" and restarted the PC. "Crystal Report Example.rpt" still crashes as does my application. I found U25IDAutomation.dll on the production server. Is an updated version of this file needed? It is not installed by the "IDAutomation_CrystalUF" package.

You may download the UFL in the link IDAutomation Crystal UFL in my first post. It is a free font encoder.

Do I have to pay another $790 for this? I downloaded and installed the demo and my report still does not work. I changed the bar code field from "IDAutomationC128XS" to use the "IDAutomation SUni XS Demo" font and Crystal still crashes.
