GS1 Logistic Label - Decodability issue

The requirement is to generate a GS1 logistic label
Label size: A6 or 105mm x 148mm
Format: GS1-128
There are two barcodes that need to be printed on the label

1. Concatenated Bar Code (height 32mm magnification factor 25-100%, light Margin min 10.2mm @100%, or 5.1mm @50% or 2.6 mm @25% )
AI02 (GTIN), AI37(Quantity), AI17(used by date), AI10 (BatchNo)

2. SSCC (height 32mm, width 78mm)

I am using a Crystal report ver 12.5 and Zebra Z4mPlus printer with good quality labels

I have been able to code the AI using parentheses and the Tilde method and all works fine

When we try to obtain accreditation, I can see it reads all the relevant data with the AI code, etc. but the label fails at decodability.

Also, for the first barcode when I try to fit
the GTIN, Quantity, used by Date and Batch no, it overflows onto the next line.

I am using IDAutomationC128XXL font with 15 point size. I barely manage to get it within the required height (32mm)

Can you advise on the following

1. Is the font I am using appropriate to print (height of 32mm and width of 78mm) if not can you advise which font I should use? I have tried the other IDautomation fonts and then seem to come shot on height

2. can you suggest which font?

3. I am getting a reading of F (see link http://www.isisintegration.co.uk/iso_iec_15426-1.html) on the various grading and the failure point seems to be on the thick bar code print.

4. Can you suggest what other factors can I check or troubleshoot to get better decodability?

Ben	Best Answer The font to use is dependent on the type of printer (thermal or laser). Take a look a the Code 128 Font Specifications. Based on the spec, 15 points is actually an invalid font size as it does not generate the proper XDimension. Verify the XDimension that you need for your specification. The IDAutomationC128M (Medium height) font is generally recommended. At 12 points, the font height is about 1/2 inch tall. 12 points produce about 12 mils. You may have to make adjustments to the point size. About GS1-128 When generating GS1 symbols, IDAutomation recommends testing the result with the Barcode Decoder App which parses out GS1 data to verify proper encoding.
