GS1-128 in Oracle Reports

We bought your Code 128 libraries some time ago and we were using them successfully until now.

Now we have had a new requirement to generate multi-field bar codes using GS1-128 format but we are not able to get the right bar code.

We think we already have everything right but one character (GS character used to end a field that is not fixed length). We are doing it using Oracle Report 6i.

We have tried to use } as a GS character but the bar code we get is not read properly. We have tried using ASCII 029 too but we do not get it.

Example Input:
AI(02)00000022600943AI(11)120313AI(37)264<GS>AI(93)169319

Output:
ÒÏ" 6)K+,#-E:Í4}Ì0}3>Ó

What is your advice?

Operating System: Windows

Application: Oracle Reports

It is recommended to use the Universal Barcode Font with the appropriate Oracle Reports Universal Barcode Font Functions (in the IDAutomation_Universal.pll file) when performing one of the following:

· When creating barcodes for GS1-128 (UCC/EAN 128) or when encoding FNC1 or FNC2 functions.
· When using the IDAutomationC128 fonts outside of the USA - to avoid language and locale incompatibilities.

Given the above, when encoding GS1-128, it is necessary to do the following:
· Use the function Code128(DataToEncode, ApplyTilde), with ApplyTilde set to True.
· Use the TildeMethod to format the DataToEncode for GS1, as described in the Tilde Method section of the Creating GS1-128 Compliant Barcodes article.

Example: to encode your data with the Tilde Method, ~2120200000022600943~02911120313~02937264~02993169319 would be used, where:

· ~212 encodes the 2-digit FNC1
· ~029 encodes the GS (Group Separator) as a valid FNC
